Whether you’re just starting chess or trying to break through a rating plateau, my goal is to help you improve in a structured and enjoyable way.
I work mostly with adult beginners and intermediate players (up to approximately 1700 FIDE / 2000 Chess.com Rapid), offering online lessons in English and Hungarian.

TEACHING METHOD
Every lesson is personalized to your current level and goals. Rather than following a fixed lesson plan, we focus on the areas that will help you improve the most. Although every lesson is different, most begin with tactical training, as I believe it is one of the most important aspects of chess.
After that, depending on your needs, we may work more on calculation and visualization, or analyze your games to identify recurring mistakes, study middlegame strategy or endgames, or even prepare for upcoming tournaments. If there is anything in particular you’d like to focus on, I’m always happy to adapt the lessons accordingly.
I like to make my lessons engaging and highly interactive by asking plenty of questions. Rather than simply giving the answer, I guide students toward finding it themselves. I believe this approach leads to deeper understanding and longer-lasting improvement.
My background in Psychology also allows me to help students with the mental side of chess, including confidence, decision-making, coping with losses and blunders, and tournament mindset.
I am also available for training games (blitz, rapid, or classical), followed by analysis and feedback if requested.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have several years of teaching experience working with children and adults, both in groups and individually. Currently, I am a full-time coach working primarily with adult improvers from around the world.
PLAYING EXPERIENCE
I have been competing in national and international chess tournaments for more than 20 years. During that time, my peak FIDE rating was 2266. I earned the Woman FIDE Master title, and I also achieved both a WGM and a WIM norm. I’m constantly working on my own chess skills not only to become a Woman International Master, but to be able to help my students better. You can find me on Chess.com, Lichess, and FIDE.

Fruzsi is an amazing teacher: knowledgeable, patient, engaging, and a lot of fun! I started with lessons with her while I was around the 750 ELO mark and managed to rise up to a peak of 1363 with her help. Whether reviewing our warm-up puzzles, my old games, or general tactics, she knows how to focus on my strengths and weaknesses and explain how to look for certain patterns in an easy-to-understand manner. Fruzsi is such a good teacher. I’d tried lessons with a few others before I started working with her, and the learning experiences are night and day. She is always well prepared and tailors her lessons. I can fully recommend taking lessons with Fruzsi without any doubt. First of all, Fruzsi takes time to understand your individual aims and struggles and uses this to tailor lessons exactly to your needs.
