About me

Hello there! I am Fruzsi, a Woman FIDE Master from Hungary. I started playing chess when I was 8 years old, and since then I have participated in many national and international tournaments. Most of the time, I finished in the top three at the Hungarian Youth Chess Championships for girls under 18 (and even won a few), and I earned silver and bronze medals at the Youth European Union Chess Championships. I hold a WGM and a WIM norm, and my highest Elo rating was 2266.

After I reached my peak, I had to start university, which meant that I could only play on and off, as I was studying for a bachelor’s and then a master’s degree in psychology. Originally, I wanted to become a sport psychologist, so I wrote both of my theses on this topic. However, after finishing my studies, I found my way back to chess, and I started helping adult improvers, which I have been doing and enjoying ever since.

I am mostly interested in writing about chess psychology, chess improvement, and my chess journey. If this sounds interesting to you, please consider subscribing! :)
