About me
Hello there! I’m Fruzsina Szente-Varga, a Woman FIDE Master from Hungary.
I started playing chess when I was 8 years old, and since then I've participated in many national and international tournaments. I finished in the top three several times at the Hungarian Youth Chess Championships (winning a few of them), and I also earned silver and bronze medals at the European Union Youth Chess Championships. I hold a WGM and a WIM norm, and my peak FIDE rating was 2266.
After reaching my peak, I started university, which meant I could only play competitively on and off while studying for my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Psychology. Originally, I wanted to become a sports psychologist, so I wrote both of my theses on the subject. However, after graduating, I found my way back to chess and discovered that I truly enjoyed helping adult improvers. I've been coaching full-time ever since.
If you’d like to know a little more about me, I've written a longer article about My Chess Journey. :)
I am mostly interested in writing about chess psychology, chess improvement, and my chess journey. If this sounds interesting to you, I'd love to have you along. :)
